Species profile
Salps have transparent, barrel shaped body with orange or reddish ball shaped gut. It can be as a single organism or connected into a chain that can be several meters in length. There are more than 40 species and can be of few mm to more than 10cm in length. do not have stinging cells and are harmless to humans. Salps are non-stinging.
