Latin name: Kompas meduza
Species profile
Medusa has brown body with many brownish bands originating from the centre of the umbrella. There are 4 long light brown to white oral arms with creased margin as extension of the mouth opening, and 24 long tentacles on the umbrella margin. It is a native species in the northern Adriatic Sea. Its presence is reported during spring and early summer. This jellyfish has a moderate sting.
